Marble sometimes gets circulary etches scrathed into its polished face with sanded grout. The edges of the tile are much more absorbent and if the grout color is dark then the dark water from the grout will absorb into the edges of the tile and create a picture frame stain. 5 01 14 15 05 09 pm. Unlike a ceramic or porcelain tile floor it s not just the grout lines where sealing is critical but the entire surface. I d want to seal the tiles before grouting then grout remove any grout discolouration on the tiles and then seal again. You can apply another coat of sealer on the tile too.

The sealer seemed to do the trick. I would seal the tile before grouting. Then wipe off all excess until completely dry. I just installed honed marble and plan on grouting before i seal.

Sealed my tile before grouting to make sure they didn t stain i used tec power grout. I used this sealer and just put it in a spray bottle and sprayed three coats on the ungrouted tile. Then i used a grouting sponge to wipe off any excess. The process for sealing a marble floor is relatively easy and should take less than an hour with each application.

Let it soak in for 2 5 minutes.
